About NVIFN

Our Mission

Nevada Institute of Forensic Nursing’s mission is to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based, competent forensic nursing care to victims of violence, maltreatment, and sexual assault across rural Nevada.

We are dedicated to providing advocacy to all patients without bias or discrimination. Every patient under our care will have continued holistic support as we work together through their journey from victim to survivor.

NV’s First Mobile SANE

As Nevada’s first 100% mobile SANE unit, we have the ability to provide survivors with care in any part of rural Nevada.

We currently have an office in Elko, Nevada where we provide our regular services and follow-up exams for survivors upon request.

We also collaborate with organizations and advocates in our community. NVIFN is curently contracted with NNRH and Great Basin CAC to care for survivors across the life span.

What Makes Us Different

Trauma-Informed Care

We treat survivors from a trauma-informed lens to ensure that they feel supported & cared for during their journey from victim to survivor.

Survivor-Led Exams

We empower survivors to reclaim their lives and take a lead on their healing journey. During their exam, survivors have complete autonomy to make decisions about their care.
